Drainage problem? No problem! These clients were faced with a large volume of roof run-off, which emptied into a small courtyard space. The courtyard did not allow for adequate movement of this water, so we designed an elaborate drainage system that involved pumping the water out of the courtyard to the backyard. In addition, an iron sugar kettle was positioned properly to collect the water and a French drain, covered by Mexican river pebbles, allowed overflow to enter the drainage system. A fully automated irrigation system was installed to provide the precise amount of water to all plant material. Variegated ginger, Japanese maples, and dwarf pittosporum were just a few of the plants included in the design. To complete this outdoor entertainment space, an inviting patio and composite wood transition walkways were incorporated into the design. We utilized many elements of landscape construction including demolition, drainage, irrigation, hardscape construction, and planting installation. A project of this nature can range from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on the type and quantity of utilized materials.
