For this project, Smith and Baker Landscapes collaborated with Cynthia Cash, Landscape Architect, on a new design that was eventually featured on the Hilltop Arboretum Fall Garden Tour. We began by removing the overgrown, dead and dying plant material and then incorporated a new plant design to highlight the features of the home. Ridged architectural plantings were used as the backbone of the design and loose, cottage-garden-style plant material such as trimmed boxwood hedges, little gem magnolias, shrub roses, cassia, and blue plumbago were incorporated to add color to the space. Some of the landscape construction elements used in this project include demolition, evaluation of existing plant materials, and installation of new plant material. An extensive plant material and planting bed renovation of this nature can range from $10,000 to $15,000 depending on the type and quantity of utilized materials.
